Leonardo Series....
As the name may suggest these images were inspired to some extent by Leonardo Da Vinci. As in a Da Vinci work there is a depth of layering and grunge incorporated into these pieces.  There are several backgrounds that alone are made up from 10 different layers. Every one of the pieces include a Da Vinci drawings and/or text. Viewing a Da Vinci artwork is like looking into his artistic life with incredible perspective. It is this depth of his work that intrigues and inspires me the most. After printing and mounting on canvas, many of these images were embellished with metallic leaf, craqueleur surface treatments, collage, etc .

I was particularly interested in the idea that artworks  are evolutionary in the sense that age radically changes the character of the piece not only within its  historical context but also in its outward surface appearance.
