COURSE OBJECTIVES:

To enable the advanced fashion design student to construct a fluid and concise collection based on the prerequisite work of Senior Collection I sampled in final fabric, using appropriate construction techniques and geared toward a specific target customer with distinct needs.

 

COURSE PROCEDURE:

Demonstration of advanced construction and fitting techniques, discussion and evaluation of a well researched collection, and execution of complete design concepts within six completed outfits.

 

COURSE REQUIRMENTS:

 

A)   The creation of six final fabric sample outfits using appropriate construction techniques, fitted to assigned models and based on the six muslin sample outfits completed during Senior Collection I

 

B)    Participation in the annual fashion show

 

 

GRADING PERCENTAGES:

 

six complete final fabric samples          40%

ATTENDANCE:

 

Attendance is mandatory.  You are allowed three unexcused absences during the semester. Excused absences will only be granted for illness supported by a physicianÕs letter or family emergency.  Each unexcused absence beyond the third will result in reduction of your grade by one half of a letter grade.

 

 

DEADLINE POLICY:

 

All assignments are to presented on the due date assigned, no late work will be accepted and the resulting grade for any late assignment will be an F.  Three late assignments will result in an F for the class and you will be asked to drop the course.

 

INCOMPLETE:

 

Incompletes will only be granted for continuous long term illness (more than three weeks) supported by attending physicianÕs letter.
